My mission is to make yoga meditation teachings available to everyone, regardless of their level of physical ability. I firmly believe that all of yoga can be used to support health and healing for every BODY! I make my classes welcoming to everyone as I approach my clients/students in a compassionate, trauma-informed manner.

Why yoga meditation?

 

It's no secret that the ancient science of yoga meditation does wonders for the body, can calm the mind and nourish the soul. Research continues to point to its power to help ameliorate various ailments such as hypertension, pain, and insomnia. Now, there is also growing evidence that modified yoga and meditation can be part of a therapeutic process of personal development. Yoga meditation is a powerful and non intrusive tool of healing and empowerment for people who have experienced trauma, chronic stress or that have limited mobility.

The objective of my yoga and meditation sessions is not to access emotions or dredge up traumatic memories, but rather to help you heighten your body awareness—to notice what is happening inside your body—and thereby learn to release tension, reduce and control fear and arousal, and tolerate sensation. Various breathing exercises (prayanamas), yoga postures (asanas) and meditation techniques are used for you to heal through your body, as you make peace with your internal process and allow your inner guru to express itself in an empowering manner.​

An introduction call will help us determine if we're a good fit. If so, I will tailor a class for your needs, being mindful to suit my students with disabilities, physical challenges, chronic illness, seniors, and anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable in a regular class. I can offer virtual classes, chair yoga classes and even bed yoga classes!
